Drive: 2 wheel drive. 12v cordless drill motor and gearbox assemblies with belts to wheels.
Details: Originally designed to be a hammer robot Scarifier was found to be a great test platform for trying many different weapons. The wheels are driven by cordless drill assemblies via timing belts to remove the load off the gearbox which made it very reliable.
The name for Scarifier came from the name of the toothed assembly on the back of earth-moving equipment that is used for breaking up hard ground.
